Organisation Settings
Update your company profile, sector, and tech stack.
Organisation Settings
The Organisation Settings page lets you update the details that drive playbook personalisation across the platform. Your organisation profile determines which playbook sections are shown, which regulatory templates appear, and how communication templates are pre-populated. Keeping this information accurate ensures your playbooks are always relevant to your specific context.
Company Details
Basic company information used across the platform, including in communication templates and PDF exports:
- Organisation name
- Companies House registration number
- Registered office address
- Primary contact email and phone number
- Data Protection Officer name and contact details
- ICO registration number
Changes to company details are reflected immediately in all communication templates and future PDF exports. Previously generated PDFs retain the details that were current at the time of export.
Sector
Your organisation's sector determines which regulatory requirements are included in your playbooks. Selecting a sector activates the relevant regulatory templates and playbook sections:
- Financial services— Activates FCA and PRA notification templates and financial sector-specific guidance
- Healthcare / NHS— Activates DSPT reporting templates and healthcare-specific procedures
- Legal— Activates SRA notification templates and client money protection guidance
- Education— Activates DfE and Jisc-specific guidance
- Public sector— Activates government security classification guidance and NCSC reporting
- General / Other— Standard ICO and UK GDPR templates without sector-specific additions
Sector Changes Affect Content
Changing your sector will immediately update which playbook sections and communication templates are visible to your team. Sections that were previously shown may be hidden, and new sections may appear. Review your playbooks after changing sector to ensure the content is appropriate.
Technology Stack
Your technology stack profile tells CrownSync which tools and platforms your organisation uses. Playbook steps reference your specific tools by name rather than providing generic instructions. You can configure:
- SIEM platform (e.g. Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike)
- EDR solution
- Email platform (e.g. Microsoft 365, Google Workspace)
- Cloud provider (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
- Identity provider
- ITSM / service desk tool
Incident Command Model
CrownSync Playbooks supports three incident command models. The model you select determines how roles, escalation paths, and decision-making authorities are described in your playbooks:
- Simple lead-based— A single incident lead coordinates the response. Suitable for smaller organisations or those without a formal command structure.
- Silver/Gold command— The command structure commonly used in UK public sector and emergency services, with Silver (tactical) and Gold (strategic) command levels.
- Full incident command system— A structured approach with multiple functional roles including incident commander, operations, planning, logistics, and communications.
How Changes Affect Playbook Content
When you update any organisation setting, the playbook engine re-evaluates all content conditions and updates the visible sections accordingly. This means:
- New sections may appear if they match your updated profile
- Existing sections may be hidden if they no longer match
- Tool-specific instructions update to reference your current stack
- Communication templates update with your latest details
Changes take effect immediately for all team members. Any customisations you have made to playbook sections are preserved regardless of profile changes — customised content is never lost when settings are updated.
Tip
After making significant changes to your organisation settings, review a few key playbooks to confirm the content reflects your updated profile correctly.
